South Barrington property tax relief depends on the re-annexation of a former Allstate site
Property tax revenue from a proposed light-industrial complex could reduce the financial burden on South Barrington residents. The development would consist of three warehouse or factory buildings on a 67-acre site formerly used as Allstate Corp. headquarters. The Opus Group has a contract to purchase the land and proposed the project to village officials in January. Allstate formally petitioned for the land to be annexed back into South Barrington on April 7. The property had been legally disconnected from the suburb in February 2025. Annexation would give village officials authority over the development process. The resulting property tax revenue would ease the financial burden on residents.
