US Treasury to Let Iranian Oil Purchase Waivers Expire

The US Treasury Department will allow the waiver authorizing the purchase of sanctioned Iranian oil to expire this weekend. This follows the expiration of a waiver for Russian oil on April 11. Both waivers were part of efforts to ease global energy shocks from the war in the Middle East. The Trump administration is allowing the Iranian crude oil waiver to expire.
