SEC removes pattern day trader rule to lower retail margin barriers
Retail investors will have easier access to margin and day trading following an SEC plan to eliminate the pattern day trader rule and ease margin requirements. The SEC approved the plan to remove the restrictions that previously bound retail accounts. Robinhood shares increased 7.72% in premarket trading.
