Predicted 2027 Social Security raises may fail to cover retiree costs

These projections are based on March CPI data showing inflation at 3.3%. 68% of beneficiaries say a 2.8% adjustment offers little to no help with everyday expenses. Retirement benefits inflation increases have outpaced real inflation in five of fourteen years between 2010 and 2024.
