One in three Canadian workers will seek new employment if salaries remain stagnant
Nearly one in three working Canadians will seek a new job in the next 12 months if they do not receive a pay increase. This sentiment is driven by a perception of being undervalued, with 49 percent of workers reporting they feel underpaid. While 64 percent of workers say they love their job, 44 percent admit that frustration with their pay makes them less willing to work harder. For 45 percent of respondents, the desire for higher earnings outweighs job satisfaction, stating they would accept a position they dislike if it meant earning more money. The H&R Block Canada survey reveals a gap between employee loyalty and financial necessity, as 30 percent of workers plan to leave if pay stays stuck in place.
