Goldman Sachs' Bitcoin ETF Strategy Could Shift Returns for Investors Depending on Price Trends
The Goldman Sachs Bitcoin Premium Income ETF may outperform when bitcoin prices are stable or falling but underperform when prices rise, according to the preliminary prospectus. The fund will generate income by selling bitcoin ETP options for premiums. The ETF will invest at least 80% of its net assets in investments that provide exposure to bitcoin. Goldman Sachs is seeking SEC approval for the ETF. The SEC authorized bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 after years of opposition.
