British consumers view stablecoins as a niche investment tool rather than a payment method
Only 7% of Brits are very or fairly likely to consider using stablecoins. Among those open to the technology, 22% would consider them for investing, the most cited use case. This lack of adoption is driven by a lack of awareness: 81% of Brits say they have never heard of stablecoins, and only 13% have any degree of familiarity. This occurs as the Bank of England, the FCA, and the UK government are currently regulating fiat-backed stablecoins.
