Amex Platinum’s $1,300 in Annual Perks Demands a $895 Fee — But Only If You Use Them

A cardholder who does not use or track these specific perks will pay $895 for benefits they do not receive. The American Express Platinum Card® has an annual fee of $895. The card offers over $1,300 in annual travel and lifestyle statement credits. These include $600 in hotel credits, $200 in airline fee credits, $209 in CLEAR+ credits, $200 in Uber Cash, $120 in Uber One credits, $300 in digital entertainment, $400 in Resy dining credits, $300 at lululemon, and $155 for Walmart+. To receive these credits, cardholders must actively enroll and spend with specific partners. The value of the card exceeds its cost only if the cardholder uses at least $895 in targeted benefits annually.
