$142,000 raised in one night to cover cancer patients’ medication, transportation and treatment costs
More than $142,000 raised in a single night will go directly toward covering medication, transportation and medical equipment costs for local cancer patients. The sum was collected at the Memorial Health Foundation’s 21st annual Fashion Show, this year themed as a Masquerade Ball, which drew over 1,000 attendees. Proceeds fund the foundation’s cancer patient emergency fund and breast health initiatives—resources that help individuals manage non-treatment expenses during care. The event uniquely features cancer patients and survivors as models, with participants like Tracy Cornell, who described walking the runway mid-chemotherapy as empowering. Behind the scenes, local merchants such as Teri Ann Brockett of Teri Ann’s styled the models, emphasizing dignity and confidence. Since the fashion show began, it has generated more than $1 million to support patients through their cancer journeys.
